Design Inspirations:
The Liebe ist keine Argument suite features tall ceilings and large windows that bathe the space in natural light. Sky-blue and rose-pink textiles provide a soft, romantic contrast to warm white walls and natural wooden furniture, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. Inspired by Leonie Ossowski’s novel Liebe ist keine Argument (Love Isn’t an Argument), the design reflects its themes of love, choice, and individuality. A personal touch in the room is an oil painting of Lustschloss Benrath, a castle near Düsseldorf where we (Jamie and Matty) spent cherished years before making Osowa Sień home.
Historical Background:
Liebe ist keine Argument explores the complexities of love and responsibility during World War II, capturing the tension between personal desires and the realities of conflict. This suite is believed to have been Leonie Ossowski’s own during her teenage years at the castle. In her film Weichselkirschen (Sour Cherries), a glimpse of her photo album reveals the castle as it once was—along with a mention of this very room as hers.
